Advertising Guidelines
- We accept GIF, JPEG, Rich Media & third party served ads
- A default gif must be submitted for visitors without Flash or JavaScript
- Must send click thru url to us in email (since it won’t be embedded in the flash file)
- Lead time is 3 business days for non-rich media and 6 business days for rich media
- 30-second and 4 loop max for any animation
- Any audio must be user-initiated, defined as a click and not a mouseover, and clearly labeled with “Play” and “Stop” controls.
- Flash
- All locally served Flash ads need to have a clicktag encoded rather than a hard coded click-thru command. The following code needs to be manually added to the .swf file before the ad is sent to the Green Street Journal. Code must be added to a button on the outside layer (NOT a movie clip):on(release) { getURL(clickTAG,”_blank”); }
- For Expanding Advertisements
- Expanding ads are subject to frequency capping
- Expansion must be user initiated via click or mouseover
- In the event of expansion via mouseover the expanded portion must automatically close when the user’s cursor moves off the ad.
- In the event of expansion via click the expanded portion must be clearly marked with a “CLOSE X” button in at least 10-pt type
- Expanding big boxes must be able to open to the left and expanding leaderboards must be able to expand down.
