According to the press release, “Trina Solar Limited (NYSE: TSL) (“Trina Solar” or the “Company”), a leading integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) products from the production of ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of PV modules, announced today through its subsidiary, Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Co.
Yingli Green Energy plans to build 600 MW of PANDA mono-crystalline silicon-based manufacturing lines in each of mono-crystalline ingots and wafers, cells and modules at its Baoding headquarters, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Yingli Energy (China) Co., Ltd. (“Yingli China”). In addition, the Company also plans to build 100 MW of multi-crystalline silicon- based manufacturing lines in Haikou, Hainan Province through Yingli China. With the completion of these two new expansion projects, the Company’s capacity will increase to 1.7 GW. The Company expects these two new expansion projects will start initial production from the middle of 2011.

“The launching of these new expansion projects marks another key milestone in the rapid growth of Yingli Green Energy,” commented Mr. Liansheng Miao, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yingli Green Energy. “The demand for our ‘Yingli Solar’ modules continues to grow rapidly in the global market and we are pleased to further expand our capacity to meet the growing market demand and the increasing interest in our ‘Yingli Solar’ modules. Especially, we see robust demand momentum for the Yingli Solar Panda Module(TM) as a result of its high cell conversion efficiency targeting to reach 18.5% or above on commercial production lines by the end of this year, which is expected to help reduce the balance-of-system costs. We are confident in solidifying our leading position in the increasingly challenging industry and further increasing our market shares with our expanded capacity.”

“With a cash balance of more than RMB 4 billion in bank accounts as of September 30, 2010, the recent registration of RMB 2.4 billion medium-term notes, which is a committed funding source to further optimize our overall capital structure and enhance our cash position, we currently maintain a healthy level of cash, which we believe is further supported by expected additional long term project financings from PRC domestic banks to support our capacity expansion projects,” commented Mr. Zongwei Li, Director and Chief Financial Officer of Yingli Green Energy. “Such a robust cash position significantly helps remove the pressure for us to raise funds on stock market to finance the capacity expansion projects.”"

According to the press release, “Vestas, the world leader in wind energy, received an order from China Longyuan Power Group for 18 units of the V80-2.0 MW turbine, totaling 36 MW. The order represents another step in the collaboration, which Vestas has had with this important customer for several years.

China Longyuan Power Group is China’s largest developer of wind energy. The company’s IPO in Hong Kong at the end of 2009 raised USD 2.2 billion, which will help fund its aggressive pursuit of wind energy production.

“We are excited to receive this new order from China Longyuan Power Group, the leading developer of wind energy in China and an important customer for Vestas. We appreciate this customer’s strong commitment to the industry, and will work closely with them to achieve our common goal – a sustainable tomorrow,” says Jens Tommerup, President of Vestas China. “Fujian is also one of the most important provinces for the wind industry in southern eastern costal area of China. Just this past half year, Vestas has received over 150 MW in orders for Fujian province alone, so we are well under way in building up a firm presence in this province.”

The contract includes delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution and a service and maintenance agreement. The first delivery is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2010.”

According to Reuters, “China on Tuesday disputed that it had surpassed the United States last year to become the world’s largest energy user, and defended its efforts in boosting cleaner energy sources.

The International Energy Agency estimates China last year consumed 2.265 billion tonnes of oil equivalent of energy from sources including coal, oil, natural gas, hydro and nuclear power, 4.4 percent more than the United States.

But Zhou Xian, spokesperson for China’s National Energy Administration, said on Tuesday that the IEA’s estimate of China’s energy consumption was too high, although he declined to give an alternative estimate.

The IEA estimate, he said, “could be used as a reference but is not very credible.”

“We believe that (IEA) did not understand fully the Chinese situation, in particular the efforts China made in energy saving, emission reductions and development in new energy sources,” said Zhou.

The IEA, adviser to 28 industrialised countries, is not the first provider of energy statistics to say China has become the top energy user.”

According to the press release, “Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited (NYSE: YGE) (“Yingli Green Energy” or the “Company”), a leading solar energy company and one of the world’s largest vertically integrated photovoltaic manufacturers, which holds the brand “Yingli Solar,” today announced that its affiliate, Yingli Group Company Limited (“Yingli Group”) has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hebei Branch of China Development Bank (“CDB”), a government policy bank solely owned by China’s central government, which contemplates potential credit facilities in the aggregate maximum amount of RMB 36 billion to be granted to Yingli Group and its affiliates, including three PRC subsidiaries of Yingli Green Energy–Baoding Tianwei Yingli New Energy Resources Co., Ltd. (“Tianwei Yingli”), a 74%-owned subsidiary of Yingli Green Energy, Yingli Energy (China) Co., Ltd. (“Yingli China”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Yingli Green Energy, and Fine Silicon Co., Ltd. (“Fine Silicon”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Yingli Green Energy.

Under the terms of the strategic cooperation agreement, subject to internal procedures to be conducted in accordance with its risk management and operational regulations, CDB expects to grant, among other credit facilities, credit facilities with an aggregate maximum amount of RMB 36 billion to support Yingli Group and its affiliates, in particular, Tianwei Yingli, Yingli China and Fine Silicon, three PRC subsidiaries of Yingli Green Energy, in their PV industry-related domestic and overseas investments. In addition to the internal procedures to be conducted by CDB, detailed terms of the credit facilities and related credit agreements will need to be negotiated before the relevant credit facilities may be granted. Therefore, no assurance can be given that the credit facilities will be eventually granted as currently contemplated in the strategic cooperation agreement or at all.

“We are very pleased with CDB’s support and confidence in Yingli Group and Yingli Green Energy, which resulted in this strategic cooperation agreement,” commented Mr. Zongwei Li, Chief Financial Officer of Yingli Green Energy. “This agreement raised two parties’ cooperation to a new level, which we believe will give us the ability to pursue opportunities that will allow us to strengthen our leadership position in the PV industry.”"
